The Petzl Rescucender is a rope grab designed for use on larger diameter ropes 9-13mm. The Petzl Rescucender is designed to be used as a back-up belay on fixed ropes or as part of a progress capture pulley system for hauling heavy loads. Slides easily up the rope and down the rope if the cam is prevented from engaging. If this device is overloaded or subjected to a large impact force, the rope may slip through the device. This Rope grab is safer than most due to a two stage opening system where a locking pin must be removed before normal opening is possible.
