The Beal Raider is a semi-static rope specifically designed for helicopter evacuation by the military. The key advantage of aramide rope is that it does not melt even if it comes into contact with overheated metal during descent.
The aramid sheath of this rope requires specific precautions. Only to be used by competent people, Scrap aramide ropes after 2 years due to poor UV resistance and weakening by repeated bending. Due to the low UV resistance of aramide ropes they must always be stored in a rope bag. Aramide ropes also require extra close inspections for abrasion as they are more susceptible to this type of wear than other rope materials.
